As a former 125cc class GP rider with a huge passion for racing competitions and motorbikes, I want to talk about safety on the road but would take more time and space. However these brief tips will help the teenagers and the motorbikes fans to prevent crashes! I have bought my first scooter (Vespa Piaggio) when I was 14 years-old but I was immediately conscious about the dangerousness of riding the bike on the road.
Concentration, Protection, Attitude and Judgment are fundamental to prevent crashes together with some small adjustments as follows:
HELMET
This is the most important apparel while riding the scooter/bike on track and on the road. Thanks to this “safety instrument” many riders, including me, have been able to escape unhurt from the accidents. But remember… not buckling up your helmet, is about as clever not wearing one at all!
TYRES
If you do not look after them with the right pressure, sixe ect.. you will end up on the floor… and this is not FUN! Grip is very important if we consider the different surfaces. Remember: do not buy second hand tyres!
FUEL AND LUBRIFICANTS
The way you ride effects the amount of fuel you use so take your time and save extra cash! While you ride try to avoid sudden brakes and abrupt starts as this causes stress on the engine and fuel consumption. Remember: check periodically the oil level to get the best engine performance!
SPARK PLUG
Spark plugs work well as long as you take care of them. Depending on how old/strong your engine is, you made to change your plugs often than the others. However this can alter performance drastically by giving you more power and less consumption. Remember: Iridium spark plugs may be expensive but they go off with a big big bang!
If you follow these small simple steps I guarantee you the road will become a safer place!
Will come back to you all soon with more tips to make you enjoy your bike safely….
